About Exercise Therapy
Exercise therapy is one of the most important aspects of Physiotherapy and is critical in the rehabilitation process of musculoskeletal injuries.
Initially a short period of rest might be useful after an injury but then it will be time to start moving and loading the body again to maximise the recovery process. Too much time resting can lead to more issues with stiffness and muscle weakness, further contributing to issues.
Exercise therapy will include, strengthening, conditioning, stabilising, breathing effectively, stretching and mobilising the body (or body parts) to relieve symptoms, improve function and promote healing.
At Origin Physiotherapy in Tunbridge Wells we have the space and equipment to offer individualised and guided rehabilitation for all ages and abilities. It is important to know when to progress or take a step back from your rehabilitation and we will be with you every step of the way.
We will give you the tools to continue your rehabilitation independently when you’re ready to. But don’t worry, we will always be on hand if you need us. Part of exercise therapy at Origin Physiotherapy means having up to date and individualised information and programming. Your exercises are recorded as videos or photos and sent to you along with guidance such as frequency, sets and repetitions.
